At LLLS, the importance of filling revenue-generating positions as quickly as possible is crystal clear. In general, searches take 12-16 weeks during which time LLLS search directors provide clients with full weekly reports. A highly experienced search director is accountable for each search, from intake interview to offer letter.  LLLS NEVER uses inexperienced staff to contact candidates or work with clients.

Phase One: Position Analysis and Description
All searches begin with a comprehensive review of the organization and expectations of the new hire as expressed by key stakeholders. This information is used to create a compelling profile of the organization and the position. During this initial stage, the search director works with our researcher in the development of a search strategy.  Advertising copy is also developed at this time.

Phase Two:  Candidate Outreach and Phone Screening
The most critical period of a search, we contact hundreds of selected professionals to present the opportunity, ascertain interest, and assess qualifications. It is at this time that our talents really shine – LLLS staff members are mature, savvy, experienced, and personable. They are professionals and are able to optimally engage potential candidates.  During this phase, the search director reviews resumes and performs in-depth telephone interviews with those who have applied for the position.

Phase Three: In Person Interviews and Presentation Summaries
At a mid-search review, we discuss with clients the results of the telephone interviews. From this pool, six to nine semi-finalists are selected to be interviewed in-person by LLLS. All in-person interviews are conducted by the search director and another highly experienced LLLS staffer, providing two perspectives on candidates’ technical and presentation skills. At the conclusion of this phase, in consultation with the client, three finalists are chosen.

Phase Four: Client Meets Final Candidates
In advance of on-site interviews, client interviewers receive a packet of information for each presented candidate. The packet contains the candidate’s resume, a summary of his or her background and professional strengths, and written references. LLLS also has designed an “Interview Tool Kit,” which offers clients a list of potential questions they can use during the interview process.
