Children’s National Medical Center is the leading children’s health system in the Washington, D.C.-area, the only freestanding children’s hospital located between Philadelphia and Atlanta. The Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders is recognized nationally for its expansive multidisciplinary program. This Center houses one of the only pediatric-specific bone and marrow transplantation programs in the region. The hematology program has the largest, most comprehensive blood disorders team in the D.C. area. The oncology program is staffed by some of the world’s leading experts. In addition, the Center has an expansive allergy, immunology and rheumatology specializations.

The Opportunity

The Director of Development will assume a vital leadership role, designing, articulating and implementing a multi-million dollar fundraising strategy for the Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders. This position will report to the Associate Vice President, Annual, Major and Planned Giving and will have the opportunity to partner with other leaders within the department in principal gifts, corporate and community giving and planned giving. The Director of Development will be ready to create initiatives designed to attract new funders and expand the Center’s base of support. The ideal candidate will have at least ten years of fundraising experience.
