Bringing people and communities together to advance the common good, United Way Greater Twin Cities partners with local nonprofits, businesses, government and social service agencies to address its community's most pressing needs. Those goals -- stabilizing families, helping children succeed, and empowering healthy lives – encompass local issues ranging from hunger, housing, and domestic violence to educational programs, healthcare, and more. Approximately 88% of every dollar donated goes to initiatives and programs that help people in crisis get back on their feet, prevent future problems, and build a stronger community.

The Opportunity

A talented Major Gift Officer is being sought to increase funding for vital community programs provided by the United Way Greater Twin Cities. The ideal candidate will be an innovative individual who is passionate about changing the face of the community through cultivating, stewarding, and growing an active portfolio of major and principal gifts donors. Strong candidates will have extensive experience in volunteer management, including identifying and engaging executive level volunteers, and overseeing executive level committees and boards. Being donor-centric and team-oriented are a must, as is a Bachelor’s Degree and 5+ years of senior development experience, including the direct solicitation of major gifts. Experience with planned giving programs and familiarity with various vehicles including bequests, trusts, real estate, etc. is required.
