Since its incorporation in April 1921, Martha’s Vineyard Hospital (MVH) has been committed to delivering high-quality, compassionate medical care to every member of the Martha Vineyard’s year-round and seasonal community, as well as all who visit there. MVH plays an essential role in the life of the Island, and continuously is listening, learning and looking for solutions to help the Hospital achieve its greatest potential in delivering excellence in patient care.

Martha’s Vineyard Hospital (MVH) consists of a 25-bed nonprofit, critical-access hospital located in Oak Bluffs, MA, and Windemere Nursing & Rehabilitation Center (WNR), located on the hospital campus. In 2007 to expand this scope of patient care, MVH joined Partners HealthCare as an affiliate of Massachusetts General Hospital, providing island residents access to the services, resources and expertise of a world class medical center.

MVH’s provides care to all, regardless of their ability to pay, in an atmosphere that fosters respect and compassion.

The Opportunity

As Martha’s Vineyard Hospital (MVH) approaches its centennial anniversary and looks ahead to its future, the Hospital seeks a Director of Development and Community Engagement to lead philanthropic efforts ensuring its commitment to delivering high-quality care. Under the leadership of new President and CEO, Denise Schepici, MVH/WNR is at a pivotal moment in its history. As a key member of the leadership team, the Director of Development and Community Engagement will play a critical role in developing and advancing the strategic priorities of MVH/WNR. S/He will be responsible for leading and directing staff and will partner closely with members of the Board of Trustees to achieve philanthropic goals. Bringing extensive fundraising experience and success in all areas of development, the Director of Development and Community Engagement will forge effective relationships across the organization and within the community to create a culture of philanthropy. S/He will be key in the planning, launch and execution of MVH’s next multi-million-dollar campaign.
