Senior Director of Philanthropy

Morgan Memorial Goodwill Industries

Boston, Massachusetts

Morgan Memorial Goodwill Industries was the first in what is now a worldwide network of 162 organizations, annually serving more than two million people who face barriers to employment. For more than a century, Goodwill has been a leading Massachusetts provider of job training, career development, and youth programs that help equip individuals with the tools necessary to sharpen their skills, meet new challenges, and create more rewarding and independent lives.

Last year, Goodwill helped 7,700 individuals live more independent lives through on-the-job training opportunities in its retail and other social enterprises, work programs, career services, and the youth initiative. Goodwill has provided meaningful opportunities for participants in its programs to secure and retain jobs to support themselves and their families. Today, the organization continues to advance its mission of helping individuals to self-sufficiency, independence and dignity through work — not charity, but a chance.

The Opportunity

Morgan Memorial Goodwill Industries seeks a Senior Director of Philanthropy to lead the mission-driven philanthropy team of this highly successful, well-regarded social justice nonprofit and to embrace Goodwill’s culture of collaboration, best practice, and entrepreneurialism. Reporting to the President and CEO, the Senior Director will lead and grow a $1.75 million annual fundraising program that includes robust annual giving and direct mail, corporate and foundation support, and special events. This individual will have a significant impact on Goodwill’s fundraising initiatives by, among other things, developing a pipeline of donors for cultivation and solicitation of major and planned gifts. The Senior Director will engage the institution’s top donors, mentor and guide a committed staff, and work collaboratively with program and administrative staff.
