Striving to provide a full range of healthcare and supportive social services for all who live in or visit the eight outermost towns of Cape Cod, Outer Cape Health Services (OCHS) serves its residents regardless of their ability to pay and meets their primary, preventive, and urgent medical needs. OCHS is affiliated with the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, a teaching hospital of Harvard Medical School, and operates three centers, a dental clinic, two pharmacies, and dozens of services and programs. Grants and donations from generous individuals, businesses, and foundations are critical to bridge the gap between the cost of providing care and the payments received for services.

The Opportunity

Healthcare and social services provider Outer Cape Health Services (OCHS) is seeking a broadly talented, strategic Chief Development Officer to establish a diversified fundraising program, and determine and meet fundraising goals to support its vital community services. Partnering with the Chief Executive Officer and collaborating with the Board President and Chair, Development Committee, and Capital Campaign Committees, this high-level position will strengthen and build programs for: annual, major, planned, and corporate giving; special events; foundation grants; and capital campaigns. The successful candidate will also cultivate successful relationships and develop strategies for soliciting financial support from corporations, public and private foundations, Federal, State and municipal governments and their funding agencies for capital and unrestricted gifts. The outstanding applicant will have a Bachelor’s Degree and/or Master’s Degree in related field, with 10 years’ experience in corporate, foundation, major gifts and annual giving, program planning, solicitation, and an emphasis on directing a sophisticated development operation and playing a leadership role in a capital campaign. Passion for the mission and budget management experience required, as is a demonstrable, relentless pursuit of major gifts and grants in a health center environment.
