Senior Director of Annual Giving and Alumni & Parent Engagement

Union College

Schenectady, New York

Established in 1795, Union College was named to reflect the founders' desire to create a welcoming, unified academic community open to all the diverse religious and national groups in the region. Today, Union remains one of the oldest non-denominational colleges in the country. With a rich history that blends respect for tradition with an emphasis on continuous innovation, the College has never been stronger.

In the past decade, Union College has received a record number of applications and early decision requests, sustained its commitment to inclusive excellence through expanded academic opportunity programs and increased diversity, constructed and renovated 14 buildings, concluded a successful capital campaign, strengthened the infrastructure and resources to support robust faculty and undergraduate research experiences and won a NCAA Division I hockey championship with an impressive group of scholar athletes.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Vice President for College Relations and serving as a member of the Vice President’s leadership team, the Senior Director of Annual Giving and Alumni & Parent Engagement has the opportunity to shape the future of annual giving and alumni and parent engagement with Union College for generations to come. The ideal candidate is an experienced annual giving leader who will bring knowledge of best practices, innovative programming and a proven track record of building integrated annual giving and alumni and parent engagement programs to this key role. The next director will be a flexible, focused, self-aware and knowledgeable manager who leads by example, introduces creative and new ways to engage alumni and parents and builds on the strengths of the current annual giving and alumni and parent engagement programs.
