Director, Major and Planned Gifts

Walnut Hill School for the Arts

Natick, Massachusetts

Walnut Hill School for the Arts is a private boarding and day high school for grades nine through 12 located just outside of Boston. Walnut Hill students immerse themselves deeply in their art— dance, music, theater, visual art, writing, film and media arts — and are guided by highly accomplished professional artists who have dedicated themselves to supporting young people on their artistic journeys. This time spent mastering a discipline in the arts is balanced by engagement in a rigorous college-preparatory curriculum that challenges students to ask big questions, solve complex problems, and explore traditional academic subjects through innovative, hands-on lessons. By nurturing the whole person, Walnut Hill equips graduates to matriculate to some of the leading colleges, universities, art schools, training programs, and conservatories in the world.

The Opportunity

As Walnut Hill embarks on a comprehensive campaign, the Director of Major and Planned Gifts will have tremendous impact on the future of this prestigious school. In this newly created role, the Director will deepen the relationships between new and existing leadership and major gift prospects, further the engagement of planned giving donors, and increase involvement in the Ellison Circle, Walnut Hill’s planned giving society. The selected candidate will develop and implement short-term engagements and solicitation strategies while building long-term fundraising capacity. S/He will be tasked with aligning donor interests with campaign and annual funding opportunities and work with a passionate group of alumni and loyal parents in an effort to increase giving at the five-and six-figure level. This is an excellent opportunity for a mission-driven self-starter with five or more years of proven experience as a frontline fundraiser who has a demonstrated ability to secure gifts of $25,000 and above.
